Using the FUSE program to inspire coworkers to have respectful conversations about difficult topics
Brief Synopsis of Program:
Michael and Kathy will lay out the FUSE program, which includes a card deck of questions to ask. They will review how to mediate conversations that may be sensitive in nature. The card deck lays out 3 goals: learn, listen, and acknowledge. They will also review a toolkit that includes training on being an effective facilitator as an HR professional.
Learning Objectives:
Learn how to use the FUSE card deck in your workplace, learn how to facilitate difficult conversations in the workplace, leave with tools you can utilize in your workplace.
Meet our Speakers!
Dr. Kathy Nordyke—Dr. Kathy Nordkye is the Director of Citizenship and Service Learning at Missouri State University. She received her PhD in Education from North Central University and her MS in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. Her research centers around leadership, civic engagement, addressing global challenges, and service-learning opportunities.
Michael Frizell—Michael Frizell is the Director of Student Learning Services and is over the Bear Claw tutoring center for Missouri State University. H He has degrees in theatre, English, and his MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He serves as the editor of The Learning Assistance Review. His work revolves around learning centers and student support, creative nonfiction, and graphic novels.
