Diversity Committee


The Diversity Committee is responsible for increasing awareness and education of SAHRA members and the business community regarding the benefits and rewards gained by valuing diversity.  The committee will strive to add value-added programs, information, and services that benefit the workplace and community.


  • Develop and/or distribute information and materials to chapter members to promote diversity in the workplace.
  • Partner with community leaders to enhance and support diversity.
  • Serve as a resource for chapter members on diversity issues.
  • Monitor local diversity activities and provide information to the chapter.
  • Develop and support workshops and seminars that address diversity issues.
  • Represent the chapter in the human resources community.
  • Coordinate the November SAHRA monthly chapter meeting related to Diversity.

A committee member can generally expect to attend quarterly committee meetings and participate in periodic email and phone correspondence.  Anyone interested in joining the Diversity Committee may contact Angela Cave via the contact information below.

2017 Committee Goals

  • Participate in UNITE Multicultural Festival and other diversity-related initiatives

  • Coordinate at least one monthly SAHRA meeting or professional development seminar in which diversity/inclusion is the topic of discussion/presentation

  • Sponsor Statewide Collaborative Diversity Conference

  • Increase awareness of diversity-related activities and events among the SAHRA membership, including monthly newsletter articles and meeting announcements

  • Initiate plans for Regional Diversity Award (for employers and individuals)

Individual Committee Member Goals

  • Participate in at least 50% of committee meetings.
  • Attend at least 50% of monthly SAHRA meetings.
  • Assist with committee goals throughout the year.
