Professional Development Committee



Professional Development's objective is to promote continuing education, training, and professional development of Association Members, local Human Resources Professionals/Practitioners, and Business Owners through educational seminars, workshops, conferences, and other sanctioned professional developmental opportunities. The Professional Development committee is responsible to the Association for facilitating the coordination and delivery of professional certifications, i.e. Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and certification delivery systems endorsed by the Association and its regulating body.

Responsibilities and Goals
  • Identify and promote Professional Development opportunities for SAHRA members.
  • Obtain HRCI and SHRM recertification credit for all SAHRA-sponsored events.
  • Facilitate the first SPRING all-day HR Conference:  recruit quality speakers and sponsors, coordinate the venue and logistics, market and promote through various strategic avenues, and evaluate the effectiveness of all speakers and trainings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and promote the September half-day Professional Development Seminar and speaker.
  • Partner with and support other SAHRA committees to assist in planning, coordinating and promoting SAHRA events to improve community awareness, advance the quality of Human Resources and provide SAHRA members opportunities to improve their HR skills and knowledge.
