The subject of this seminar is timely and they have two fantastic speakers that will speak on safety and mental health preparedness. The seminar will also provide 3.5 HR credits.

Nick Spencer, from Straegos International, will discuss workplace violence with an emphasis on active shooters.  The information will cover our history, ideology, and systematic approach to mitigating workplace violence. Dr. Curtis Mattson, from CoxHealth, will discuss the demands for mental health services are increasing at historic rates; at the same time, access and availability of these resources is more limited than ever. Because of this, employers are being asked to take on more of the burden. In this presentation, Dr. Mattson will discuss ways employers can become more aware of mental health warning signs and symptoms exhibited by employees, how workplace culture and stigma surrounding mental health can lead to latent disruptions in performance and increased turnover, and how becoming a trauma informed workplace is a positive step in proactive preparedness and management of employee mental/behavioral health.
